According to the latest Barside Buzz Daredevil: Born Again Part 1 will be nine episodes long with three newly written episodes. The information comes from Jeff Sneider on this week’s The Hot Mic. You can watch for yourself in the video below, time stamp 16:30. However here is the gist of what Sneider has heard.
Daredevil: Born Again was already filming and after looking at al the old footage shot, it has been reduced down to six episodes worth of content. Sneider says a new pilot episode has been written in addition to a new finale which is the final two episodes. This takes the total up to nine episodes with Part 2 probably coming around a year later. This will NOT be referred to as Season 2 due to contractual obligations. In other words, Disney has to pay everyone less money if it is one supposed Season split in two. The reality is that this is a Season 1 and Season 2 situation in all but name.

Of course we all know that everything changed on this series during the actor and writers strikes. After reviewing the show shot, Marvel decided to part company with both the writers and directors. New writers and directors were then brought in before the show resumes filming to lick it all into better shape.
As always, I’ll always support delays and rewrites if those in charge don’t feel a project is working. Echo really was a decent show and the best part of it was D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk. It sets up the story of Born Again well, but I want and hope that the show will be an equal to Daredevil Seasons 1-3 on Netflix. That’s not going to be easy, but that’s the task at hand.
Sneider also revealed recently that Foggy and Karen had been added back in. It’s worth noting Sneider comments on his story in the video above also. Sneider is unsure how much we will see of Foggy and Karen, just that they will appear now.
