In the latest DCU news James Gunn explains Peacemaker Season 1 canon and Alan Tudyk is confirmed as Clayface in Creature Commandos. Let’s start with Peacemaker and we all know Season 1 was in the DCEU. Whereas Season 1 is set in the new DCU. Confusing? Perhaps, but Gunn has always said it will be addressed in Season 2.

Here is what Gunn said when spoke to IGN recently.

“Now in Creature Commandos, you’ll hear them talk about things that happened in [The] Suicide Squad or Peacemaker,” Gunn explained. “Well then, those things automatically become canon.”

‘“The truth is almost all of Peacemaker is canon with the exception of Justice League… which we will kind of deal with in the next season of Peacemaker,” promises Gunn.’

So pretty much Season 1 will be canon, as will The Suicide Squad. However, there will be an explanation for why the old Justice League was in Season 1. Okay, I guess we will wait and see if it makes sense. To be honest I thought Peacemaker Season 1 was great. Therefore if S2 is as good, I won’t care too much.
