Shame (come on, you know I had to do it). In what would have been the duo’s first public appearance since the Season 8 finale, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have taken a page out of Cersei Lannister’s playbook and decided not to appear at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, what likely could have seen them put on trial by fans operating a kangaroo court.
The above is just me having some fun, HBO said in a statement that their absence is due to scheduling conflicts, but you can check out the post from the show’s official Twitter account below.
The #GoTSDCC panel taking place Friday, 7/19 at 5:30PM in Hall H will now consist of panelists @Maisie_Williams, @RaleighRitchie, @nikolajcw, @isaac_h_wright, @johnbradleywest, @liamcunningham1 & Conleth Hill.

‘The Long Night’ director Miguel Sapochnik, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Iain Glen have also decided not to attend the panel. Still set to appear at the panel are Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Liam Cunningham, Conleth Hill, and John Bradley.
