David Fleming composed the score with Hans Zimmer for Hillbilly Elegy that stars Glenn Close and Amy Adams.

David Fleming is certainly following the footsteps of famed composer Hans Zimmer.

Hans Zimmer took Fleming under his wing with the first project of Oceans: Our Blue Planet documentary back in 2012. Since then, the pair created wonderful scores together for numerous projects.

In the latest project for Netflix’s Hillbilly Elegy, Fleming took the lead with Hans Zimmer to score this drama based on an attorney who struggled growing up in poverty.

Director Ron Howard helmed Hillbilly Elegy from a script adaptation from Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water) based on J.D. Vance’s book. The film has an all-star cast with Amy Adams (Arrival), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Gabriel Basso (Super 8, The Kings of Summer), Haley Bennett (The Magnificent Seven, The Girl on the Train), Freido Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Bo Hopkins (Midnight Express). It introduces a stellar performance from Owen Asztalos (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul) as the young J.D. Vance.

Hillbilly Elegy follows J.D. Vance, a former Marine from southern Ohio and current Yale student, is on the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he’s tried to forget.
