David Harbour Talks Stranger Things Season 3

It’s been a while now since Stranger Things 2 ended. I didn’t fall in love with the Season 2 in the same way I did with the first, though I still enjoyed it. Actor David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Hopper on the show, recently spoke with Deadline and gave fans some hints for Season 3, and while they’re aren’t much to go on, it does give us an idea of what to expect.

“If you’re a real fan of Stranger Things and you really want to know, I would go look at the great films that were released in ’85, of which there were many, and just go down that list and think of the possibilities that we could be going with. I think it is a specific season to 1985, and so you’ll see references to that.

One 1985 film has already been a prominent influence on the series, The Goonies. A quick Google search shows that there are plenty of movies from 1985 that Stranger Things can draw from, it would have been nice if Harbour would have been a little more specific, but that’s expected, as Season 3 is still pretty far away to be giving such details.

Harbour continuedon how the third season will be different:

“We’re experimenting a lot this season, and we’re taking risks, and I hope that they pay off but they are risks. We’re going into territories we’ve never been to before, and it’s exciting.

At the very least, I hope we are done with the demogorgans, as I have had my fill of the creature and am ready to move on to something new. The show originally won audiences over with a compelling story in a nostalgic setting. The call backs to all things 80s, including being influenced by the works of both Stephen King and Steven Spielberg.
