DC Universe Cancels DC Daily On Their Streaming Service

Comic-Con 2018 I was so hyped about the potential of DC Universe. They were going to give me all my favorite content in one place. From existing series, original series, films, comics, and a daily news program called DC Daily. Fast forward to mid 2020 and there is not a lot left to keep subscribers interested in paying a monthly fee.

DC Universe will be losing another series as via Collider we have learned that they have canceled DC Daily. The show is getting ready to air its final batch of shows over the next few weeks. Even though it’s the least expensive show to produce, they could not overcome the challenges that were presented thanks to the pandemic.

While several of the show’s hosts were not available for comment a DC spokesperson gave Collider the following statement:
“After more than 400 episodes, DC Daily will air its final broadcast on Friday, July 3. This year has brought more challenges than the show could overcome. We thank all the fans and talent and hosts for bringing this show to life. It’s been a fun ride.”

DC Daily premiered in September of 2018 and it offered viewers news, interviews, and panel discussions about DC films, series, and comics. It featured hosts including Tiffany Smith, Harley Quinn Smith, Hector Navarro, Sam Humphries, Clarke Wolfe, Samm Levine, Whitney Moore, Brian Tong, Markeia McCarty, John Kourounis, and John Barrowman.

I enjoyed some of the panel discussions with current actors and voice actors of the series on DC Universe. The one spot that I thought the show was lacking a little was in its news delivery. Often by the time they revealed the news, it had already been on several media outlets. It would have made it so much better if they were able to reveal it first.
