Deadpool 3: Ryan Reynolds Says There Is No Shortage Of Ideas

Just how long can a franchise go before it’s driven into the ground? We seem to be testing those boundaries on a yearly basis and the folks creating superhero movies are certainly happy to push things as far as possible, so long as they keep on making money. Marvel Studios has managed to make 20 some-odd films so far in their world, Warner Bros. has spent decades capitalizing on Batman, and Fox has also worked hard utilizing many Marvel characters for the big screen.

The latter of those studios recently struck gold with the most unexpected of characters back in 2016 with Deadpool. That film saw a dying Wade Wilson go on to almost losing his one true love. Then, 2018’s Deadpool 2 saw Wade lose everything all over again. Later this year, Fox will be revamping Deadpool 2 for a PG-13 audience in Once Upon a Deadpool…but what about the inevitable sequel following X-Force? At a recent Q&A attended by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, the sequel was brought up.

Reynolds himself mentioned there was no shortage of ideas for the threequel, and he even stated that franchise co-writer Paul Wernick had just pitched a “fresh take” in the lobby of that theater prior to the Q&A.

But can Deadpool live by himself beyond X-Force? Star and producer Ryan Reynolds had stated in the past that the character is at his best when he’s lost everything and that it’d be hard to keep doing that over and over again…so will they? Well, at the end of the day, money talks. I just hope that so long as money keeps talking that they can continue to make these films as funny an heartfelt as they have been so far.
