According to Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy, they didn’t start with a cameo wishlist up front. Instead, in a recent interview with EW, Levy explained how any cameos for the movie came naturally as the story they were writing progressed. Of course the internet is full of rumors of various cameos that will be showing up in the film. The trailers have already shown us glimpses of some FoX-Men cameos, many more are rumored. Levy isn’t of course going to confirm those rumors. However, he does explain that any cameos are not there just for a cameo’s sake.
“I’ll say we didn’t start off with a wishlist,” Levy says of all these special appearances. “From the day we started devising this Deadpool and Wolverine story, we let the story dictate the characters, not the other way around. Aaron and his return as Pyro was an outgrowth of that, and that applies to pretty much all the characters you’ll see in the movie.”
So far as Levy says we have Pyro seen in trailers, along with The Punisher villain The Russian. We had all this cameo talk before with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Yet, none of those reported cameos really happened. Leakers will claim, because deals couldn’t be done, sceptics will say they were never included to begin with. Therefore, fans are kinda waiting to see if Deadpool & Wolverine is the real deal?? Or, whether the leakers have overhyped another Marvel movie? My guess, is that Marvel knows what is being rumored and how the fans are reacting to it. Therefore, they’ll be keen to deliver this time around.
