Destiny 2 Cross Play Is Active And It Was An Accident

Bungie is hiring a Destiny historian to keep lore continuity in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 cross play is active, thing is, it’s not supposed to be, yet. Yesterday saw the releases of the new season on Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer. However, the launch didn’t exactly go off great. I like many thousands of players were not able to either get in, or get past the opening mission due to error codes. Bungie had to take the game back offline to fix a few things delaying that launch.

However, once things did get going, a discovery was made, cross play was active. That means the likes of players on PC, Stadia, Xbox etc. could all match with one another. Cross play is something we knew was coming eventually, but there was an announcement about it with this release. Turns out, it was a happy accident. Check the post below by Bungie’s @Cozmo23.

So until Bungie turn this feature off at some point in the future, players can test it out. Have you always wanted to Raid with buddies on a different platform, then now may be the time to act. Cross play as said is coming fully and properly eventually, though I’m sure there has to be some restrictions. In PvP for example many players on console will not want to match up against M&K players on PC. However, for PvE content it’s great to play with anyone really.

As with very new season of Destiny, there is a ton to do and keep you occupied. The new 6-player activity is kinda fun, if a bit easy so far. Though, no doubt the level of these events will increase as the season goes on. I’m currently most looking forward to seeing the return of the Vault of Glass Raid, which is due next week. Are you excited to try out Destiny 2 cross play, even if it’s just a teaser for hat’s to come? Leave any thoughts below.
