Destiny 2 Season Of The Splicer Trailer Teases Vault Of Glass

Bungie is hiring a Destiny historian to keep lore continuity in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer trailer just hit online today. The new season will begin on May 11th and run up till August 23rd. As always a Season Pass will be available for a few, and this Season Pass will give you extra rewards and access to the new activity shown in the trailer below. Players who do not wish to purchase the Season Pass will still be able to rank up and play all their usual activities, just not the new seasonal ones.

As per the title, one of the exciting activities that will return to the game this season as the Vault of Glass. The Vault is the very first Destiny Raid from the previous game and has a huge nostalgia factor amongst the player base. Developers Bungie has said that they wanted to keep the basic experience the same as it was, but with a few updates along the way.

Players hoping for a day one clear of the Vault will have to face it with contest mode active. Bungie has also confirmed that beating the Raid won’t be the end. Completing the Raid once will just activate a special set of challenges which also must be cleared by your team to claim the day one reward. Conditions are a little different this time because the Vault of Glass isn’t a new Raid. Therefore players expect to work out mechanics pretty quickly given the basic premise is going to be the same. Well, so say Bungie, there also could be a few surprises here and here.

The trailer also confirms a new alliance with Mithrax, a Fallen we have aided before. There will be a new Vex Simulation 6-man activity for the new Season, along with a new weekly mission. One new exotic is shown in the trailer, and I assume that is the seasonal weapon. However who knows what other secrets are hidden within Season of the Splicer?

Are you excited for this season or not? What do you think of Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer trailer? Any thoughts below, eyes up Guardian.
