Here is the Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted trailer. This trailer also introduced Solar 3.0, a new rework of the solar ability paths of Guardians. Check out the trailer below and then we will talk about what we can glean from this about the season ahead. Season of the Haunted launches today at reset which is (6pm GMT, 1pm EST, 10Aam PST).
Prior to this trailer Bungie were keeping details close to the chest on this Season. For a start we had no idea whether we were getting Arc 3.0 or Solar 3.0. The previous Season had already introduced Void 3.0 and it was fantastic, so I can’t wait to see what I can do this season. The betting money was on Solar 3.0 as Arc is arguably the elemental class which needs most work. This means we are likely losing some solar abilities but gaining others. Until the content drops today, we won’t know for sure. However it is intriguing that fans think they noticed a Hunter dropping a Well in the trailer. Wells were an ability previously reserved for Warlocks. We’ll see if that pans out later today.

As for the story content, it is clear this Season will be focussed on the Leviathan which is seen crashed into the Moon. Then again, considering the Seasonal name was already leaked, and the classic Destiny meme, ‘Moon’s Haunted’, it seemed like a safe bet. It seems like we will be picking up the story from last year where we discovered former Cabal emperor Calus was experimenting with the Darkness and the Scorn enemies. Given we are back on the Moon, it also seems Nightmare’s are making a return. Likely in whatever the new Seasonal activities are.
There is also a brand new Dungeon dropping with this Season. Though unless you own the Deluxe Edition of the last expansion, then there is an additional cost for the Dungeon. That’s outside of the normal seasonal cost by the way. I decided when the last expansion was so good I would save money and upgrade to the deluxe version. Therefore, I am set to go (when I get the kids in bed anyway), later tonight.
