Disney Announces Plans To Bring Remake Of 1973 Robin Hood To Disney+

Oo De Lally! Some great news as Disney has announced plans to do a CGI/live-action remake of their classic 1973 film, Robin Hood. As any of you who have seen the film know (and if you haven’t seen it, and happen to have Disney+, go watch it now!) all the characters in the classic tale were envisioned as forest animals such as foxes, bears, wolves and so on. The remake is thought to retain the animal characters with the use of CGI in a live-action setting.

Carlos Lopez, who directed Blindspotting, is set to direct the remake and Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp) will write the script. A release date has not been set.

I for one am excited to hear this news as this is probably my favorite Disney film, my favorite non-Pixar Disney film for sure. Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed the music in the film and as an adult appreciate how the music is incorporated into the film. Not including the original songs will be the only dealbreaker for me.

Just remember, if you shoot half as good as you blabbermouth, you’re better than Robin Hood!
