Disney-Fox Deal Expected To Close Mid-March

disney fox merger

It’s almost done! It’s almost done! After reporting for well over a year regarding all things Disney and Fox, we are likely a couple short weeks away from seeing the two entertainment titans living under one roof. This is a deal that’s been in the final stages for several months at this point, but now we are approach the final final FINAL stages, if a new report from Deadline is to be believed (and you know what? I’ll give it to them).

As of this writing, the deal looks like it’s pending approval by Brazil, who are expected to rubberstamp it today. The country’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) seem pleased with things, and once they give the go-ahead, it will reportedly take an extra 10 days or so until the deed is officially done. This would pretty much make the process just a tad late from what it was expected, which isn’t too bad considering how big of a deal this is.

The main concessions Disney had to make in order to please Brazil revolved around their ownership of Fox Sports, as the rights to soccer are very important. But, according to the report, it looks like Brazil is happy with the concessions Disney will be making in order to bring this whole thing to a close.

Are you ready for the House of Mouse to own the world? Well, ready or not, here they come!
