Disney+’s Moon Knight Filming Location and Start Date Revealed

One of the selling points for me for Disney+ was the promised slate of Marvel Studios’ original series that they were going to produce. Since Marvel was releasing series on Netflix I have always really wanted a Moon Knight series. Lucky for me Moon Knight along with others like She-Hulk, WandaVision, The Falcon Winter Soldier and Loki to name a few were confirmed for the streaming service.

Today we got some information about the Moon Knight filming location and start date via Geeks Worldwide. According to them, production on the series will be starting sometime mid-November at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously it had been rumored that the series would be filmed in August at Pinewood Studios UK. This choice for filming makes sense as others Marvel Studios’ shows are also filming in Atlanta including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki.

Moon Knight follows a character named Marc Spector. He believes that he was resurrected and given powers by the Egyptian god Knoshu. He creates a costumed identity that he calls Moon Knight along with two other personalities that help him in is war against crime. One a millionaire named Steven Grant and the other a cab driver named Jake Lockley. He first appeared in comics in Marvel’s Werewolf by Night #32 in 1975. His creators were Doug Moech and artist Don Perlin.

Casting for the lead role is currently underway with Marvel searching for a Jewish Zac Efron-type actor. Jeremy Slater, who has worked on FOX’s The Exorcist and Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, will serve as showrunner for the series. Currently there is no premiere date yet.
