Prototype Ark Of The Covenant From Raiders Of The Lost Ark Shows Up On Antiques Roadshow

Now before I get into this article, I know what you’re going to say IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM. I would have to agree. Though it wasn’t used on screen a prototype made of the Ark of the Covenant for Raiders of the Lost Ark found it’s way onto everyone’s grandma’s favorite thing to watch Antiques Roadshow.

The man with Ark is the son of a former ILM employee who worked on the Indiana Jones film, and

James Supp, host of Antiques Roadshow said the Ark could sell for around $$120,000, but in the right setting could bring in as much as $250,000. These estimates aren’t out of the question as MovieWeb states another prop from the film, the Staff of Ra sold at a similar price. This would have been great for some young filmmakers to use in homage to Raiders, I almost feel like one would be obligated to do so simply by having the Ark.
