Doctor Who BTS Video Shows Neil Patrick Harris Dancing With David Tennant

You’re here for a Doctor Who BTS video showing Neil Patrick Harris dancing with David Tennant, and we’ve got you. A few days ago, it was announced By BBC that Neil Patrick Harris will play the villain on the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary special. If you remember this is the one that will see the return of 10th Doctor David Tennant as well as his former companion Donna Noble played by Catherine Tate.

First check out the announcement for NPH below that was made a few days ago.

Russell T Davies, Showrunner said “It’s my huge honour to open our studio doors for the mighty Neil Patrick Harris… but who, why, what is he playing? You’ll just have to wait. But I promise you, the stuff we’re shooting now is off the scale. Doctor beware!”

Well, we fans do think we have an idea who NPH might be playing, but before I get to spoilers, here is that video taken by a bystander showing NPH dancing with David Tennant. However the comments made in the audio of the video make it pretty clear who the fans think NPH is playing. Ergo,

Potential SPOILER warning!

Here is that video I promised.

So, it seems those taking the video like many fans seem to think Neil Patrick Harris is playing The Toymaker. Given some of the other short video’s I have seen already, I am also wondering if there will be a musical element to this 60th Anniversary special. Tennant, Tate and NPH all have musical experience, so I would not rule it out.

The Toymaker, otherwise known as The Celestial Toymaker was a story from the very first Doctors run that mostly got mislaid and went missing. Now only the final part of the tapes have been found and released. What is clear, is that even back then, the Toymaker and the Doctor were previously acquainted.

However saying all that, this could also be some kind of trick from a new incarnation of the Master? We will just have to wait and see? However I get the idea the people are not in control of their own lives in these scenes and that definitely seems more Toymaker like than Master.

Plus it would be a great way to celebrate the anniversary. Going back to a villain from the original series, especially seen as those episodes are now lost.

What did you think of the Doctor Who BTS video of Neil Patrick Harris dancing with David Tennant? Is he playing the Toymaker, or someone else? As always, leave any thoughts below, or over on Discord.
