There’s been a lot of rumors around the casting of Sasha Banks and Katee Sackhoff for The Mandalorian Season 2. Sackhoff is rumored to play Bo Katan, a character she voiced in The Clone Wars. Whereas, WWE wrestler Banks is rumored to be playing a live-action Sabine Wren.
There has been zero confirmation of the casting rumors for Sackhoff or Banks. However, perhaps the exchange between the pair below is some confirmation. If it was just Sackhoff and Banks chatting on social media, it would probaly be less suggestive. But, when you add Gina Carano, a known cast member of The Mandalorian into the mix? The threesome don’t mention anything to do with Star Wars or The Mandalorian. However, the interactions make it seem like they know each other pretty well. Perhaps they became acquainted on Season 2 of The Mandalorian? That’s my guess anyway, but you are free to make your own judgement on this one.

Based on recent comments by Giancarlo Esposito (see related section), we can make a few assumptions about Season 2. I think the history of how Esposito’s Moff Gideon acquired the Darksaber from Bo Katan (Sackhoff) will be covered. It’s possible Bo Katan Kryze is dead in this time, and we flashback to her death? That would be my guess, but who knows? Bo Katan Kryze could still be alive, but if so, how did Gideon get the Darksaber?
Sabine Wren is officially alive and with Ahsoka around the time of The Mandalorian. The pair went off looking for Ezra Bridger in the final moments of Rebels which was set post-Return of the Jedi. We know Ahsoka is coming to The Mandalorian in the form of Rosario Dawson, it makes sense Sabine would show up as well. There’s still no proof Banks is playing Sabine, but given all the evidence, I think those rumors are looking solid.
