Vincent D’Onofrio is waiting and willing to play Fisk again. In an interview with Screen Rant D’Onofrio said all Marvel has to do is ask. Fisk was a role he loved playing. When asked how he feels about fans hoping for his return to Marvel, D’Onofrio said the following.
“I do take it as a compliment, I so badly want to play that character again, I love that character, I just have to wait for Marvel to ask me. I think it’s very clear that I would, and the fans know that I would jump at the chance to play again, I just need to be asked.”
Of course there are very strong rumors that D’Onofrio isn’t being entirely forthcoming about Fisk currently. Fisk is supposed to show up again for the first time in Hawkeye. Then, potentially again within the rumored Echo spin-off show. However, just like his co-star Charlie Cox, and Andrew Garfield….. and Tobey Maguire, and Willem Dafoe and so on, they cannot say anything. Perhaps this is the best response of all those asked so far? Essentially D’Onofrio is telling us that he will be ready if asked and that the ball is in Marvel’s court. A tactful response that spoils nothing.

Personally for me, who else would you get? Fisk, Murdock, Bullseye, Punisher, and Jessica Jones were all expertly cast for the Netflix shows. Even if they are not canon going forward I think most fans would love to see those characters continued in the MCU. More later on whether Charlie Cox agrees with me about the actors being irreplaceable for now.
