Doom Patrol Extended Trailer And Title Sequence Released Ahead Of Today’s Premiere

Yesterday we brought you news of some early reviews for DC Universe’s Doom Patrol which goes live on the streaming service today for viewers. We had already shared the teaser trailer and this along with a well of positive reviews have piqued my interest in this series.

Today (as you can see above) we have an extended trailer for you to peruse and perhaps another chance for DC to gain audience’s attention onto their new show. We also have below a video showing the title sequence of the show, just in case you needed an extra push.

Just a reminder again that last we checked Doom Patrol was sitting at 93% fresh on RT and if you want to get a feel for some of the reviews, check out our related section below.

The new promo does give us our first glimpse of Timothy Dalton in action as the new version of Chief, the role was played by Bruno Bichir in DC’s Titans, where Doom Patrol was first introduced. We also get to see more of Robotman, Elasti-Woman, Cyborg and Crazy Jane in action along with a small glimpse of Alan Tudyk’s villainous Mr. Nobody.

The extended trailer shows us a bit of background to how each of the main characters arrived where they are now, and if anything I’d say it may be a little too much. Though, it depends on how these backstories are spaced throughout the series, if they all happen in episode 1, then I’m afraid it might be worth skipping to episode 2. Hopefully, they do space these out as I don’t want to watch an hour of backstories in the first episode.

The title sequence itself is pretty interesting, but nothing that will prevent me from skipping the intro when I watch the show. I mean, it’s not Game of Thrones. We still don’t have a release date for this show to appear on Netflix internationally, so unlike most of you I will have to wait for a while before I check out Doom Patrol, so I’ll attempt to stay away from spoilers as best I can. Staying away from all news is tricky though and I wasn’t completely unspoiled for Titans when I watched it. I guess that’s an unavoidable downside of this profession.

What do you think of the new extended trailer and title sequence for Doom Patrol? Are you tuning in today to check out the premiere or waiting till a few more episodes have dropped? Tell us something interesting in the usual place below.
