What the heck is going on with the Fantastic Four casting process? We now have some rumored Barside Buzz that says Driver is out, Kirby is in and Joseph Quinn is now Johnny Storm. My instinct now, is that we probably should just wait for the official announcement to find out. However, here is the latest buzz around the casting for Fantastic Four.
Let’s start with Jeff Sneider who was one of those who was all in on Adam Driver. In the latest edition of The Hot Mic Podcast (time stamp 23:58) Snieder now says he thinks Driver is out and that he may have asked for too much money which Marvel were unwilling to stump up. The only actor Sneider now feels confident about is Daveed Diggs as Ben Grimm.
Meanwhile we have a claim from the mods over at r/DCEUleaks that claims to have two confirmed names for the roles of Sue and Johnny. Check this one out.
We can exclusively report that Vanessa Kirby is set to play Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four.

Now, it sure does seem weird that a DCEU focused Sub is getting info on Marvel casting. Yet, the team seem extremely confident in this source for whatever reason. I dunno, but I got a funny feeling this information may be legit, and if it is, it means we have Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn playing the Storm siblings.
It is strange but since everyone in the buzz game started saying Margot Robbie for Sue, things have been changing slowly and more and more credible sources are changing their tune to Kirby.

Insider Daniel RPK also claims on his Patreon service that Kirby has been offered the role of Sue. And KC Walsh says he had heard Driver and Robbie had pulled out.

As for Johnny, Paul Mescal had been heavily tipped. However, I never felt like that was a solid as the others. Meanwhile Diggs remains the only name I’ve seen legitimately attached to Ben Grimm. Does that mean Diggs is a lock, not for me. I feel like this casting process has already taken some twists and turns and will do so again before contracts are signed.
I’ll go back to my point right up top. My instinct says we probably should just wait for the official announcement to find out. At this point I’m not sure anyone is really locked and until they are all bets are off. I will say this, I think Driver was excellent casting as Reed, but at the same time if Driver thinks he’s a mega star and demands too much cash, so be it. It’s hardly like 65 brought in the box office bucks due to Driver’s name is it? Maybe he got a huge pay deal for that because he was one of only two cast members? Oh well!
