Dusk For a Hitman | Raymond St-Jean on Life and Times of Feared Assassin Donald Lavoie

Eric Bruneau in Dusk For a Hitman

Donald Lavoie, one of the most feared Canadian assassins, found himself at a crossroads when he was assigned a seemingly simple task-to eliminate a close family member. This gripping plot unfolds in Dusk For a Hitman.

Based on the true story, Dusk For a Hitman was co-written by Martin Girard (A Family Secret, Nitro Rush) and co-written/directed by Raymond St-Jean. The story followed a former hitman for the Dubois Gang in the late 1970s Montreal, which claimed to assassinated at least fifteen during the period. Certain events unfolded involving Lavoie that brought down the Dubois Gang crime ring.

The film stars Éric Bruneau (The Fall of the American Empire, Coroner), Benoît Gouin (Lac Mystère, Québec-Montréal), Rose-Marie Perrault (Fake Tattoos, Most Wanted), Sylvain Marcel (Aline, Lac Mystère), Simon Landry-Desy (Me Without You, Pharmakon), and Joakim Robillard (Underground, Chasse-Galerie).

Here is the full synopsis:

Hitman, Donald Lavoie faces an impossible order: eliminate his own family for mob boss Claude Dubois. Detectives offer him a way out by making him their informant, putting Donald in a perilous balancing act between loyalty and survival.
