News has been circulating recently regarding director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film. First, news hit that John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, HBO’s Ballers) would be the lead in the film. Now, according to Variety, Elizabeth Dibicki (Cloverfield Paradox, Peter Rabbit) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight, the upcoming The Lighthouse) joining the cast of the film.
Warner Bros. has slated the release date for Nolan’s next film to be July 17, 2020. The date is one Warner Bros. has reserved for the director since The Dark Knight massive opening. His latest July film, Dunkirk, went on to earn $526 million worldwide and earned Nolan his first Best Director Oscar nomination.

The project is one that what was sought out by many other studios before landing in Nolan’s hands at Warner. Many aspects of the project, from plot outlines to casting, have been kept quiet from the media. Rumors have circulated that the film will be another IMAX-heavy action blockbuster.
Production on the film is set to begin later this year. Emma Thomas will once again be partnering with Nolan as producer.
