Eric André Brings His Trademark Prank Humor To The Big Screen In Bad Trip

Not gonna lie. When I first saw that Eric André was starring in a comedy for the big screen, I was a bit confused. Don’t get me wrong — he’s proven that he’s not above more standard comedies. In fact, I was introduced to him through the network comedy Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23 and he’s one of the voice actors in the upcoming animated film Connected. However, with The Eric André Show taking off, it’s very hard not to imagine him going for the crude, prank-driven, surreal sense of humor. With Bad Trip, it’s clear he hasn’t lost that.

Orion Pictures has dropped the trailer for Bad Trip, his latest movie, and it fittingly had me confused for a while. It starts off looking like a standard comedy, but when it was clear that some shots were being captured in a hidden camera style, I realized this would be at least a little bit different.

So, this movie looks like it will have elements of a narrative that you’d expect from a road trip weaved into the pranks they did separately. So, I guess, think of it as Jackass with a fictional narrative interspersed. It’s honestly a smart idea. Even cooler is that Tiffany Haddish is along for the ride. Will it be any good? I guess that depends on what you consider funny.

I tend to enjoy a lot of prank shows, but Eric André does often push it just a little too far for my taste. Either way, this at least looks to be worth a watch on HBO whenever that hits. What do you think of the new trailer? Let us know down below!
