Fans Of The Big Bang Theory Will Likely Never Know Penny’s Maiden Name

I imagine some of you are happy that the long-running CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory is coming to an end after 12 seasons. While the show is the bane of many nerds’ existences, someone has to be watching it because it’s been on television for 12 seasons.

With the show ending, fans were hoping to finally solve one of the shows mysteries, the maiden name of Penny. As it turns out that name will not be revealed by the end of the series. Executive Producer Steve Molaro recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and had the following to say about the matter.

“[Eventually] we got nervous and superstitious about giving her one. It will always be [her married name] Hofstadter.”

Oddly enough, this is something about the show that I’ve never cared much about, or even put much thought into. I enjoy the show, I don’t watch it religiously, but I won’t complain when I am channel surfing and find an episode (likely on TBS).

The show has probably overstayed its welcome, long overstayed for many people, but at least it will have a planned ending and should be sent off properly.
