A bit of news from the Potterverse as in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Jude Law, who plays Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, revealed he doesn’t have any scenes with Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald. Check out what Law had to say below.
“I don’t actually have any scenes with Johnny. As I said before, this is only Part 2 of a longer story. I’ve always admired him from afar, but we don’t know each other, and I’ve not yet met him on this. In many ways that suits the relationship as it’s been many years since they’ve seen each other. So there’s complexity in that that’s fun to mine. Again, the past will reveal itself.”

As many of you know J.K. Rowling has revered that Dumbledore and Grinderwald were involved in a romantic relationship, so for them to not even share one scene, whether it be in reference to to their affinity for each other, or something different, seems odd. Perhaps their eventual meeting in a future film (Total, there are five Fantastic Beasts films planned) will have a bigger and better payoff.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens November 16.
