According to the latest Barside Buzz Fantastic Four is casting a voice actor and some smaller roles, could the voice actor be for H.E.R.B.I.E? The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon and the insider claims that their is still plenty of casting left to do on the movie. RPK says that whilst not completely signed, offers have went out to Kirby, Quinn and Moss-Bachrach to join Pedro Pascal. We’ve also still to find out who Marvel are casting as Doctor Doom. Though that character is expected to be more of a tease in Fantastic Four for what is to come.
However, RPK also mentions that two more unnamed comedic relief roles are being cast. In addition there’s a role for a male voice actor to play a fully CGI character. RPK makes no mention of H.E.R.B.I.E, but fans of course are speculating whether that could be the fully CGI role RPK mentions. It does make sense that if H.E.R.B.I.E is present then it would have a male voice and be fully CGI. I mean it’s a floating robot.
Personally I had always hoped we would get H.E.R.B.I.E in this version of the FF. There was a small cameo of a deactivated robot in an extended scene from 2005’s Fantastic Four. Yet, realistically the robot hasn’t showed up in any live-action adaptations. So I think it would be a good idea to have him, but that doesn’t mean the fans are right on this one. After all, this is Fantastic Four, so there could be plenty of other options for fully CGI characters.

Far as we know the movie has also still to cast Galactus and Silver Surfer. The top tips are Javier Bardem and Anya Taylor Joy respectively. However, don’t take that to the bank, not with this movie and its ever changing cast.
Yesterday we shared a rumor that Fanastic Four will now not film until Q3 of this year which is the tail end of 2024. Therefore, it could be some time before we get a rounded out cast for Fantastic Four and possibly some announcements. I’m expecting a conference appearance this Summer for the FF cast if I’m honest, like at SDCC. Especially if the film isn’t going into production till Winter this year.
As for the comic relief roles, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Off the top of my head I can think of the Landlord of the Baxter Building (Walter Collins) and various other ‘normies’ that have got caught up in the adventures of the team in comics and cartoons. Without context though, it’s like a lucky dip trying to guess so why bother?
