The definition of family can be very different depending on your situation. It could be the traditional family like mom, dad, brothers/sisters. Or it could also be very close friends that you see so much they are practically family. It could also be with people you formed tight bonds with while serving in the military that becomes your brothers and sisters for life.
CBS has a sitcom titled, United States of Al. In this comedy, we see how a variety of people come together to form a loving caring family. While some are divorced and others attached by their previous work bonds, the fact of the matter is that they care for each other very much. Of course, they have many laughs along the way!
Here is the synopsis for The United States of Al:
UNITED STATES OF AL stars Adhir Kalyan and Parker Young in a comedy about the friendship between Riley (Young), a Marine combat veteran struggling to readjust to civilian life in Ohio, and Awalmir (“Al”) (Kalyan), the Interpreter who served with his unit in Afghanistan and has just arrived to start a new life in America. The series also stars Elizabeth Alderfer as Lizzie, Riley’s sister; Dean Norris as Art, Riley’s father; Kelli Goss as Vanessa, Riley’s ex-wife; and Farrah Mackenzie as Hazel, Riley and Vanessa’s daughter.
LRM Online had the opportunity to talk to a rising star that is featured in United States of Al. Farrah Mackenzie plays the daughter of Riley and Vanessa named Hazel. If she looks familiar it is because she also recently starred in Amazon Prime Video’s Utopia. During our conversation, we talk about her experience in working on a sitcom and how she balances regular life with the pressures of being an actress. We also talk about what kinds of roles she is interested in pursuing in the near future. You can check out the full interview down below!
