Firefist actor Julian Dennison Is Too Young To Watch Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 is on a tear at the box-office, pulling in just over $300 million during its opening weekend. The film is full of cursing along with crude humor (which is good for us adults). Sadly, one of the film’s cast members, Julian Dennison, who plays Fire Fist, won’t be able to watch the film until he hits his next birthday. Dennison is only 15 years old and says he isn’t allowed to watch the film, in his home country of New Zealand.

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor revealed that the rating given to the film prevents him from watching it.

“I’m 15 and it’s R-16 in New Zealand. So I can’t watch it. So there’s a fundraiser. We got a cinema and they were like, ‘Oh, yeah, you can introduce the movie, you can do everything, but you’re not allowed to watch it.’”

Rules are rules as they say. I’ve only seen the film once but I don’t remember any graphic sex scenes, just a lot of cursing and the classic Deadpool humor.

Dennison, who was only 13 at the time of the first Deadpool film, then spoke about how he was only recently allowed to watch the first film, albeit an edited version.

“They had to cut out the giant sex montage. I really wanted to go see it, but Mum wouldn’t let me see when it came out.”

I really enjoyed Deadpool 2 and I do hope Dennison gets to watch the film soon. Perhaps New Zealand doesn’t allow for accompaniment into R-rated films, like here in the states, because if I were him, I would be asking an older sibling or cousin to help me get in to watch the film.

Should Dennison be given a pass to watch the film? Let us know in the comments down below!
