First Look At Amazon’s Biopic Maradona: Blessed Dream

In the world of soccer, as we Americans call it, there are only a few names that cannot be denied as the greatest of all time. Names like Pele, Ronaldo, and of course Diego Maradona. The last on that list Maradona is arguably the best Argentine player to date. He was the first player to set the world record transfer fee twice in 1982 and 1984.

Maradona played in four world cups. He is most famous or infamous (however you want to look at it), for his performance in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Here playing as captain of his squad, he led his team to a tournament win against West Germany. But it was a play against England in the quarter-finals that went down in infamy. Here is where he scored the “Hand of God” goal where a handball went unpenalized. Interestingly enough his second goal in that same match was voted as Goal of the Century by voters in 2002.

Last November, Maradona passed away. Along with his unique talent for the beautiful game, he was known for his high charisma. Unfortunately, he also had a lot of off-the-field troubles that included drug abuse throughout his life. If you are looking to learn more about Maradona, then Amazon Prime Video has just the series for you.

Later this year, they are going to release the Amazon Original Series, Maradona: Blessed Dream. This biopic series will follow the triumphs and challenges of the legendary soccer player. You can check out the trailer down below!
