First Look At Awesome Aquaman Sea Dragon

I think we fans are all hoping James Wan’s Aquaman can be something a little special. The DCEU needs another win after only impressing so far with Wonder Woman.

Nobody (probably) expected too much from Aquaman, after all he has been the butt of many jokes in the past by fans who thought him a little silly. But Aquaman is starting to look anything but silly. The EW pre-SDCC image reveals have so far shown us a visually stunning looking movie. Of course, visuals mean nothing unless they can nail the story and the lived-in feel of the universe.

One of the Aquaman jokes revolved around how silly Arthur Curry looked riding around on a sea horse, but the producers have turned this joke on it’s head. Check out the image of the sea dragon being used in the movie Here.

This is no sea horse, and frankly I cant wait to see if Arthur Curry rides this beast through the oceans at some point in the movie. The sea dragons are ridden by the people of Xebel, one of the seven underwater kingdoms of Atlantis, their leader is King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren) and Mera (Amber Heard) is one of their warriors

Here is what producer Peter Safran told the outlet about the sea dragon.

“The idea was to turn on its head the idea of Aquaman riding a seahorse, take something for which he was mocked and turn it into something terrifying and impressive. He’s a Xebellian creature but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Arthur (Jason Momoa) on one at some point…”

That’s a pretty big hint that I will get my wish, I’m looking forward to getting a look at the first trailer this weekend.
