We may well have our first look at Temuera Morrison as Rex in Ahsoka courtesy of a Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes image. So far Rex has always been portrayed as his animated image only. We’ve never really had a Rex using Morrison’s real face, outside of fan art. Yet, as you can see in the image below, the character model coming to Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is definitely modeled on Morrison.
That’s not a photo, but a character model 100%. Yet, this remains the first official art of Rex with Morrison’s face that I can recall. Does this mean Rex will show up in Ahsoka and be played by Morrison? No, of course it doesn’t guarantee that at all, if it did, I’d have a very different title to this article.
However, this could be an indicator Morrison has suited up as Rex even for reference. The fact remains that with almost every other member of Rebels returning in Ahsoka (if alive) it might be strange if Rex was absent. It could also be that Rex has a very minor role in the show, and Morrision only filmed a small cameo like we got with Zeb in Mando S3?

When it comes to rumors on whether Rex is in Ahsoka, we have them. The link there takes you to a rumor we shared from BSL, whom I know to be a good source for Star Wars leaks. Their One Take News outlet posted a rumor they heard Morrison does appear as Rex within Ahsoka. We know Hera, Chopper, Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn and of course Ahsoka all show up. Zeb has already made his live-action debut in a cameo, but so far we’ve no live-action Rex. Maybe that’s about to change?
Whilst I can’t say whether Rex will show up in Ahsoka, I can absolutely hope he does. Is this our first look at Temuera Morrison as Rex in Ahsoka? Maybe not, but this does appear to be our first official look at Morrison as Rex period.
