Check out The Penguin mid-season trailer below which sets the stage for a showdown between Oz and Sofia.

As part of the presentation for Max, they have released a first-look featurette for the upcoming series, “The Penguin”. This of course spins off of the epic DC film directed by filmmaker Matt Reeves, “The Batman”. Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin.

This is a very intimate look at “The Penguin” as we get to hear, how Oswald sees himself in Gotham City. He says in the clip, “the world isn’t built for guys like us” and imagines becoming a household Gotham City name as the Kingpin of Gotham.

The event of this series as we can see from some of the flooding still, takes place after “The Batman” giving us a bridge to the next feature film. It will be interesting to see what kind of clues or teases we get that will lead us to the next film.

It will be a treat to get a better look at Oswald in this film as Farrell played him very well. Many people even after watching the film didn’t know that it was him under that great prosthetic job. Now coming off his Acamdey Award Nomination for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, this should make his portrayal of this classic Batman villain more anticipated than before.

Announced so far, joining Farrell on “The Penguin” are Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen recurring.

The series is being executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, who writes and serves as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro.

The eight-episode series “The Penguin” will arrive on Max sometime in 2024.
