The Bruce Willis movie formula works every time. The action star hunts down bad guys one by one and throws out a catchy line. This time around, he’s being hunted by mercenaries in a mountain getaway in Fortress.
The film also stars Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), Kelly Greyson (Alone Yet Not Alone), Ser’Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Shannen Doherty (Beverly Hills, 90210), and Simon Phillips (No Easy Days). James Cullen Bressack (Survive the Game) directed the movie from a screenplay written by Alan Horsnail (Midnight in the Switchgrass).
Here is the official synopsis:
In this dazzling action cyber-thriller, Bruce Willis plays Robert, a retired CIA agent living at a secret resort in the woods. One day, his estranged son drives to the camp for a visit—but he’s followed by Robert’s old nemesis, Balzany (Chad Michael Murray). As the site is besieged by Balzany’s attack squad, father and son retreat to a high-tech bunker. But are its steel walls and advanced weapons powerful enough to match Balzany’s bloodthirsty plans for revenge?

Many of Bruce Willis’ films are very similar in their action and style. However, Fortress is the first of a trilogy with the other two films underway already. This studio and producers must see something in Bruce Willis in this storyline about the secret mountain retreat for retired government personnel. Otherwise, it’s just a fun shoot-em-up popcorn flick to watch on the weekends.
Fortress is available in select theaters, digitally, and On Demand on December 17. The Blu-ray and DVD release follows during the next week on Tuesday, December 21.
