Galaxy’s Edge – Lucky Fans Get Early Access To Disney’s Immersive Star Wars Attraction

Galaxy's Edge

Galaxy’s Edge is a reality. Disney has built what essentially is a permanent movie set, and it’s great. In the video above you can check out some lucky folks who were of the first Star Wars fans to get to experience Disney’s latest attraction. A real treat for sure, these folks received what is as close to a personal adventure in the mini-park as anyone is likely to experience.

Droid builder and super fan Christina Cado along with her brother Baron were one group of three that gained early access to Galaxy’s Edge. Along with the siblings, the Morrison and Perales famalies were treated to an experience they’ll likely never forget.  The Morrison family had a popular video of their daughter watching the trailer for The Force Awakens make it’s way around the internet. The Perales’ are a family of costplayers, who incorporate their nerdy pasttime into their charity work visiting hospitals and working with the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.

I watched a much longer video of a fan who somehow was able to get into the park before most anyone else. Actually, you can find the link to said video just above this paragraph, courtsey of LRM‘s Cam Clark. I have to say I think what Disney is doing here is awesome, however, I feel the park seems a little plain. At this point I am more excited about the park’s potential , than the attraction as it stands right now. Yeah, I know, the park is just a baby, and I may be being a little hard on it, fair enough.

The animatronic Hondo Ohnaka that sends guests on their mission piloting the Millennium Falcon on the ride “Smuggler’s Run” is phenominal, and the technology will only get better and better. The day Disney can make animatronic creatures and aliens walk around Galaxy’s Edge and interact with guests to a believable degree is the day Disneyland becomes Star Wars land. In the video I watched this was already being implemented on a small level. I seen a droid operating a rotisserie BBQ, which isn’t much, but it does help with the immersiveness of the experience, and that’s the whole point of this thing, right?

From what you’ve seen of Galaxy’s Edge, how do you feel about the park? Let us know in the comments down below!
