Game Of Thrones Prequel Has A Male Lead

The ball really is rolling on the impending Game of Thrones prequel, which author George R.R. Martin is calling The Long Night (we’ll see if that name ends up sticking). Yesterday, we reported on the news that Naomi Watts would be joining the production as some sort of socialite, and now it looks like the show has a main male lead in the form of Josh Whitehouse.

Personally, I don’t know who this guy is, but he did star in such films as Alleycats and Modern Life is Rubbish, as well as the TV show Poldark. That being said, he’s a relatively new talent, with his first role being in 2014. As such, I can’t speak much to his talent on any level, but I can assume that writer and showrunner Jane Goldman saw something she liked in his audition.

The outlet states he is set to “a lead” role, but it’s worth noting that it may not be lead in the typical sense. If this show at all resembles its Game of Thrones counterpart, he could be one of several main characters we follow over the course of the story.

Currently, the plot details are spares on this one, but we know it takes place thousands of years before the events in Game of Thrones at the tail end of the Golden Age of Heroes.
