If you’re an actor on Game of Thrones, and you want to make fans hate your character, you could shoot a beloved dragon out of the sky, or you could behead one the person who is perhaps the most peaceful character on the show. Such is what happened on Sunday as Pilou Asbæk’s Euron Greyjoy shot down Rhaegal in Dragonstone, and Cersei Lannister had The Mountain execute Missandei.
A jarring end to a rather calm episode, Daenerys is down to just one dragon. In addition to Daenerys losing one of her ‘children’ she also lost an advisor, a translator, and a best friend in Missandei.
HBO has released some promotion episodes from this Sunday’s episode, which as best I can tell is still untitled. You can check out the photos below.

The series’ go-to-guy for big battles, Miguel Sapochnik, is back to direct the final battle for the Seven Kingdoms.
I still say the one-two-punch that Daenerys took in the most recent episode will be what sends her over the edge. How she responds to her defeat will pretty much confirm whether her destiny is the throne or the grave. If The Hound wants to be the one to kil his brother, The Mountain, he is going to have to get to him before Grey Worm does, because the leader of the unsullied wissurely going to avenge Missandei. And the events that traspireduring, “The Last War” as Daenerys called it, will certainly give Varys and Tyrion plenty to discuss as they continue their extremely dangerous conversation that began last week.
