The production of Game of Thrones‘ eighth season will temporarily come to a halt for the wedding of Kit Harrington and former Game of Thrones actress, Rose Leslie, who played the Wildling Ygritte until she was killed at the end of the fourth season. The news of their engagement broke last month. The pair met while working on the show together and have been dating in real life for quite some time. Harrington mentioned the stop in production while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show:
“I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault, actually.’ […] I was like, ‘You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way. They [the cast and crew] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.’”

When you start from being the bastard no one really wanted, and end up having a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne, as Harrington’s character Jon Snow did, these types of demands are within your power. Although, this cannot bode well for fans of the show that were hoping to see Season 8 premiere before 2019.
