Game of Thrones has wrapped up its final six-episode run on HBO to. For the die hard fans or the fans out there who just became fans anyone, it has already arrived on digital for your entertainment! The series finale aired a little shy of a month ago with one of the most talked about finales in TV history, but fans can now own the entire final season via digital download.

The Season 8 episodes is not all HBO is offering for the purchase of the digital download, either! Along with the final six episodes of Game of Thrones, the digital download also includes the two-hour making-of feature documentary, The Last Watch.

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, chronicles the journey of the final season, boasting Jeanie Finlay as director. It’s one of the most inclusive documentaries that we have seen recently, it’s a behind-the-scenes reminder of the intensive labor and many weeks that went into creating the most expensive and groundbreaking seasons of television history.

Also included in the digital download of Game of Thrones Season 8 are two featurettes that also delve into more specific parts of the last season of Game of Thrones. Those are entitled “The Long Night” and “The Final Season.”  “The Long Night” is a 40 minute documentary that covers the most anticipated episode of Game of Thrones. This extra documentary goes into detail of what it took to put together one of the most extensive battles in television history.

“The Final Season” is less of a documentary and more of a video journal by the cast and crew as they reflect on the final episodes. Among those interviewed are the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, while the cast interviews include Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), and Lena Headey (Cersei), among others. This was most enjoyable piece for me to watch.  It is always interesting for me to see how actors address such serious roles and they grow their characters.

While Season 8 was the shortest in episode of all the seasons of Game of Thrones it made up in content.  On top of getting the last season in this package the featurettes and behind-the-scenes material are worth the price. The featurettes alone will give fans a whole new respect for everything that went into making Game of Thrones’ explosive final chapter.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is now available to own via digital download.
