Did you all watch it? I assume if you’re reading this article you watched it. Yes, the final episode of Game of Thrones aired last night and there’s a new king of Westeros, Bran the Broken. One of the more unlikely choices to become ruler of the now six kingdoms, Brandon Stark, accepted the title in last night’s finale.

The actor who plays Bran, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed he initially thought Bran becoming king was a joke. You can check out what he had to say down below.

“When I got to the [Dragonpit scene] in the last episode and they’re like, ‘What about Bran?’ I had to get up and pace around the room. genuinely thought it was a joke script and that [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] sent to everyone a script with their own character ends up on the Iron Throne. ‘Yeah, good one guys. Oh s—, it’s actually real?’”

Hemstead-Wright believes Bran will be a good king.

“I think he’ll be a really good king actually. Perhaps there will be something missing in having real emotive leader, which is a useful quality in a king or queen as well. At the same time, you can’t really argue with Bran. He’s like, ‘No, I know everything.’”

Not sure about everything, but Bran definitely knows more than he lets on. In his state as the Three-Eyed-Raven, Bran will be able to rule without the influence of emotions, but will surely have Tyrion to advise him as well as the rest of the council.
