Will Gemma Chan’s character Sersi be the center of an Eternals Love Triangle? It certainly could appear that way, read on for more details.
Eternals filming is still underway for the movie which is due out this November. It won’t be long now till Black Widow hits theaters in May. Therefore, the marketing machine’s focus is about to be on that movie big time. I have to say that I find myself far more excited about Eternals later this year though.
We know Eternals has a love story, Gemma Chan’s Sersi has been seen canoodling with Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman in set photos. However, based on Chan’s recent comments to Vanity Fair Italia, it seems like a third character may be in that mix. Check it out (courtesy of Google Translate).
“Sersi is the one that has the most affinity with humans, indeed she is even involved in two love stories, an absolute novelty for Marvel events and one of the reasons that attracted me of this project.”

Now translation issues aside, it’s not 100% clear what Chan means here. This could be that Chan has two separate love stories across the many years expected to be covered in Eternals. It could also mean an Eternals love triangle as I mentioned in the title. Either option would be viable based on the quote.
I have to say, I like the idea of an Eternals love triangle. Many movies use the love triangle as a common plot device, it’s not one we have seen utilized in a Marvel movie as yet though. Of course, just because the quote could be taken that way, or because I think it’s a good idea, doesn’t mean it is happening. This is just one of several possibilities based on Chan’s quote. It’s going to be interesting to find out more as we move closer to November. I expect we will know a lot more about Eternals and the characters before that November release date.
What do you think of Chan’s quotes, is this two separate love stories? Or, is this an Eternals love triangle with Sersi in the center? You decide below in the usual spot.
