Ever since Pokémon Go hit it big a couple years back, there have been other franchises that have taken advantage of the game style for their own purposes. However, if there was one franchise that fans have really wanted to see implement the augmented reality aspects, it’s Harry Potter. Imagine a world where you hunt down beasts and cast spells with your friends. That was a world fans had longed for.

Luckily, it doesn’t look like we’ll be left wanting for much longer, as indicated by a new teaser trailer published under the official Harry Potter: Wizards Unite YouTube channel. Sadly, the teaser doesn’t give us a specific date, but it does promise a release date in the year 2019, so I guess that’s something we’ll just have to hold onto our butts for, huh?

The teaser starts off with a series of quick cuts showing off random logos before showing a snitch rushing through an alley. A witch immobilizes the snitch, and then is interrupted by some rumblings. She then throws up a poster stating that the Wizarding World is at risk of exposure. She then apparates away and we’re off to the races.

Here’s what the official Wizards Unite site says:

“Please resist the urge to panic. Traces of magic are appearing across the Muggle world without warning and in a rather chaotic manner. We worry it is only a matter of time before even the most incurious Muggles catch wind of it. We call on all witches and wizards to help contain the Calamity or risk the worst of times since You Know Who. Brush up on your spells, get your wand ready, and enlist immediately.”

“The Ministry is looking for witches and wizards willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer to save the wizarding world from the Calamity. As a member of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force (a new task force formed in partnership between the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards) you will hone lightning fast wand reflexes, an ability to sniff out the faintest whiff of magical disorder from afar, and proficiency in advanced casting of multiple spells.”
