Who ya gonna call? If you’re Ghostbusters: Afterlife, director Jason Reitman, it’s probably going to be your dad, Ivan Reitman. The younger Reitman is bringing back a film franchise that his father helped make famous. Actually, Jason didn’t call him in this particular instance, however, he did recently speak with Empire Online and you can check out what he had to say on the matter below.
“But he took a test, put on a mask and drove down to the Sony lot to watch the movie with the studio. And after, he cried, and he said, ‘I’m so proud to be your father.’ And it was one of the great moments of my life.”

I must say, that’s an awesome experience for a father and son to share. It’s also nice to have a Reitman back behind the camera for a Ghostbusters film. If I remember correctly, the ghost in the library was the first time I had a film share the s**t out of me. And it was awesome. The younger Reitman also said during the Empire interview that during a recent encounter with legendary Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, the Beard told him that the ghost in the library was a top 10 scare of all-time.
“I was at a Directors Guild meeting and I happened to be sitting next to Steven Spielberg. When I told him I was working on Ghostbusters, he out of nowhere said, ‘Library Ghost – top ten scares of all time.’ And it’s true.”
Considering my personal experience, I’d have to agree with him. And, what a compliment, seriously, from Spielberg? Awesome.
