Ah, ketchup. A condiment loved by so many. Legend has it that Heinz was the first ketchup. This condiment is made with fresh tomatoes, distilled vinegar, high-fructose corn… okay, I gotta stop. This stuff is horrifying to me! I call this tomatoey sweet vinegar glop the devil’s condiment. It is loved by so many, but not by everyone. Don’t get me wrong. I love the brand, Heinz, but not ketchup. My sister-in-law loved the purple EZ-Squirt as a kid and Heinz even had green and blue as well. This company has made some very interesting things in the past and now, they’re bringing us a terrifying new product for Halloween. I love this time of year. It’s Tomato Blood! I may not love the taste, but I love this idea!

With Heinz ketchup, I can create whatever costume I want and I have the perfect costume in mind. A person with a plate of fries with ketchup poured all over it. Horrifying, right? What kind of monster would do such a thing? Joking aside, I think this is a brilliant marketing campaign. On heinzhalloween.com, Heinz is selling the Tomato Blood in the bottle or a costume kit. They are also selling costumes and a mask. The Tomato Blood comes in a 20 oz. bottle and costs $2.99 and the costume kit is $19.99. The kit comes with the 20 oz. bottle, makeup palette, sponge, dropper, and makeup brush set. It also includes a rhinestone sheet, tattoo sheet, vampire teeth, and spooky eyelashes. Although, both the bottle and kit have a two-max limit for purchase. With the costumes and mask, the Tomato Blood is sold separately.
