It looks like we are getting Groot with wings in Guardians 3, if we go by the Marvel Legends figure below. However the Barside Buzz accompanying this indicates maybe Nebula too. First off check out this image of a Marvel Legends Groot figure which is coming out for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Shared on Twitter by self-styled leaker CanWeGetSomeToast.

The images above speak for themselves and appear to be genuine. The last we saw Groot was on the Guardians Holiday Special and far as I know there were no wings. Though, to be fair Groot was a pretty minor character in that show. From a logical point of view I’m wondering how wooden wings work in practice. Though, this a comic book universe so, people can fly with far less than this. I mean, Namor’s tiny wings for example.
As for the Barside Buzz, I guess all we have to go on with Nebula having wings and battling Adam Warlock is what you see above. In other words, treat this as with all rumors for now. I think we can tick the box on Groot, and my guess is that this is legit about Nebula also. Perhaps the Nebula thing happens in the same scene as Groot, who knows? The Kaiju thing? I’ve no idea, can Groot grow really big then? Guess we will see in a few months time.

The Legend figures are usually very accurate to the movie. Therefore, I’m guessing this is roughly what we will see on screen this May when Guardians 3 hits theatres.
We are also at the point now where full plot spoilers are being posted online. No one can for now say for sure which ones are legit. However it won’t take long for the community to piece it together. In other words, if you want to stay clear of big spoilers for the ending of this movie, be wary what you search for. We here at LRM do not cover spoilers like that once they are confirmed, so you’re safe here until the movie hits.
