Guardians of the Galaxy was a movie that most weren’t really too optimistic about. It was a little-known property, it had a stupid title, and it felt, for the lack for better word, too weird for the mainstream to really cling onto. Well, it turns out all that criticism was wrong, and after the movie came out, even many of the pre-ordained haters found themselves moseying on over to the theaters to see what all the fuss was about.
While the movie ended up being about as weird and off-kilter as we were expecting, there was one key difference between straight-up weirdness and Guardians of the Galaxy. Like any good Marvel Studios flick, Guardians of the Galaxy had a heaping helping of heart beneath the surface. The humor only helped to accentuate that aspect. In many ways, the movie was a unique hybrid of very mainstream and accessible character being held together by a super geeky space opera backdrop.
Its been over two years since the film hit theaters, and we are now eagerly awaiting the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, to drop this May. But, of course, in true Marvel fashion, we’ve been getting little bits and pieces of advertising along the way. The latest comes in the form of images from USA Today.
