A few days back, I reported on a rumor from YouTuber Grace Randolph regarding actor Jeremy Renner and all of the drama in his personal life. I won’t dig into the personal stuff. If you want to know more about that, you can check out the previously-reported info HERE. What is important, however, is that Randolph stated she had heard that Renner could be out as Hawkeye as a result of the allegations against him.

Of course, that was just one source, and as with all rumors, they are to be taken with a grain of salt. However, separately, scooper Daniel Richtman has indicated something similar, stating the following on social media:

“Just heard something. Heard Marvel are considering some options just in case they’ll decide not to use Renner for the Hawkeye show.”

While this is by no means a confirmation, the fact that two scoopers have heard and stated this independently does lend the rumor more credibility. Additionally, both have stated that Disney seems to be exploring the possibilities, so it doesn’t sound like they’ve made any actual decisions regarding the character just yet.

They are likely waiting to see what comes of the allegations or for more information to drop, as I’m sure they’ve learned their lessons from the whole James Gunn fiasco, but exploring their options probably isn’t a bad thing for a big family-friendly company like Disney.

But who knows who this will turn out. We know there will be a Hawkeye series, but from the get-go, it seemed like a series that would work as a way for Clint Barton to pass the baton on to Kate Bishop, who is reportedly played by Haileen Steinfeld. If they limit his role in the project, perhaps they can circumvent any controversy, but can they achieve the same goal by cutting him out altogether? It’s hard to say.
