Is Henry Cavill back as Superman? That seems to be the latest rumors around this long standing question. For a long time it seemed as though Cavill was out. The most recent Superman cameos in the DCEU have been faceless with Cavill not involved. Then we had rumors that J.J. Abrams was developing a Superman project but not with Cavill. Oh, and at one point we seemed to be heading towards Sasha Calle as Supergirl and Michael Keaton as Batman replacing both Cavill and Affleck respectively.
However Batgirl is now cancelled, plus we know Affleck appears in Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom. The huge corporate shake up at WB/D has left the DCEU in a state of change once again. The current theory doing the rounds is that WB/D have pushed to bring Cavill back as Superman. Is there any truth to these rumors?
A few of the regular insiders have gone back and forth on this recently. However here is what AjepArts had to say on the subject. By no means is this the only source of the rumors, however I do tend to find this source has a good hit rate.
Before this, it was seen as impossible. But the tides are changing. Something has to be going on.

I absolutely want to see Henry Cavill back as Superman. However, not if it’s in another bang average movie. If I was Cavill, it would not be money I’d be negotiating over. Instead, it would be me making sure the right people with the right vision for Superman are making whatever I’m coming back for.
Who can say how Cavill feels about all of this? I think Cavill was rather shunned by WB post-Justice League, and he didn’t deserve to be written out. Certainly not when Ezra Miller seemed to get the entire franchise thrust upon his shoulders and started sagging under the weight.
