Henry Cavill Is NOT Joining Justice League Reshoots?

Henry Cavill raises doubts about the recent Justice League reshoots report.

Let’s admit it. Justice League is the gift that keeps on giving. We’ve basically been writing about this film since well before its actual production, and several years later, we’re still writing about it. Even crazier is that we are reporting on reshoots that are taking place years following the film’s theatrical release. Truly we are living in the strangest of times, but I’m all here for it, since I’m always up for more content, especially if a director is given free rein.

In case you’re just checking in, yesterday, there was a report stating that the cost to get Zack Snyder’s Justice League would be around $70 million. This would include the cost of visual effects, re-edits, and reshoots. The reshoots are especially interesting since they would reportedly bring back the main cast, including Henry Cavill, for around a week’s worth of shoots. 

But it doesn’t sound like that’s entirely true. Speaking with Collider, the Man of Steel himself stated he had no plans to return for any reshoots.

“Not shooting anything additional. No. It’s all stuff that has been already done. Obviously I don’t know how things are going to evolve and change and adapt depending on now a different length of movie and whatever may happen in post-production. Whatever lessons may be learned from what is it four years since Justice League came out? Four years’ worth of fan reaction. For me…I’m now just watching the party.”

This is pretty interesting to me. The reason why is because this actually makes the initial report less credible. If they were wrong about one of the stars returning to the set, are they wrong about reshoots? If they’re wrong about reshoots, are they wrong about the $70 million price tag? It’s a tapestry that seems to fall away quickly if you pull at the threads. Given how outrageous the $70 million sounded and Cavill’s statement, it’s hard to take the report as truth.
