Zack Snyder’s Justice League Has A Budget That Dwarfs Most Speculation

Zack Snyder’s Justice League has a substantial budget.

As it turns out, editing and adding VFX for a $250-million-film is an expensive business. Many fans knew from the beginning that this would cost HBO Max a lot of money. A lot of figures were tossed around, but most rumors and speculations fell in between $20 million and $30 million. It seemed like a reasonable number. After all, this wasn’t a brand-new film, but it would require a hell of a lot of work.

But a new report from TheWrap states that the actual budget is higher than we thought. According to them, the budget for Zack Snyder’s Justice League is $70 million. Part of this has to do with the additional photography for the movie, which many didn’t believe would be the case until recently.

$70 million is nothing to sneeze at. Heck, it’s a budget higher than most movies out there by itself, even if it isn’t the price of a standard TV show these days. But it is worth noting that the budget of the rework alone is higher than the entirety of Joker, which cost $62.5 million to realize. And that movie made more money than Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League.

This does put a lot of pressure on Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Now, after all this money being put into it, it has to do pretty well in order for HBO Max to justify all the money. Furthermore, it does seem to put Warner Bros. in a bit of a pickle. If the movie is great, they get crapped on for interfering in the first place, and fans will begin to clamor for more cuts and a continuation of this universe. If it does poorly, HBO Max is out all of that money.

Well, if nothing else, Zack Snyder’s Justice League having such a monumental budget does at least mean they’re all-in.
