The horror film that shook festival audiences and became something of a critical darling earlier this year, Hereditary, is set to get a wide release this coming June. We’ve seen a trailer for it already, but in the new teaser that just hit the web, they really double down on the creepiness of the first one.

Sadly, there isn’t a whole lot to go off of in terms of plot details. There is a creepy little girl (Charlie), and that little girl looks like she’s doing horrifying things with her mind. Among the list of things are making a bird smash into the window, (potentially) killing her grandma, setting someone on fire, climbing onto the ceiling, and leading to a lot of people screaming.

I have to wonder if Charlie is actually responsible for these things, or if it’s something that’s out of her control, and she’s still getting the blame for it. A part of the fun of these horror movies is not fully understanding what it’s about until you get there. It’s what mad movies like The Witch, Split, and Get Out so intriguing, and from what I heard, it makes this film pretty special as well.

What do you think of the new trailer for Hereditary? Does this look like an art house viewing to you? Let us know your thoughts down below!
